Last updated: 21 October 2026
This privacy statement explains which personal data Restaurant Wiechmann processes, why we do so, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Dutch version of this statement is the original.
Who we are
Restaurant Wiechmann is responsible for processing your personal data as described in this statement.

What data we process and why
Reserving a table
When you book online, we process your name, email address, phone number, the date and time of your reservation, the number of guests and any comments. We use this data to record and confirm your reservation, and to contact you if anything changes. This is necessary to carry out your reservation (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep this data for no longer than twelve months after your visit.
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, that may be information about your health. We only use it to prepare for your visit, and only because you share it with us yourself (explicit consent, Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw that consent at any time. Please only share what is necessary; we do not keep these comments for longer than your reservation.
Contacting us
If you email or call us, we process your name, contact details and what you tell us, in order to answer your question. We do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in helping you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or because it is necessary for your reservation. We keep these messages until your question has been dealt with, and no longer than twelve months after that.
Payment and accounts
Payments in the restaurant are made through a card terminal; we never see your full card details. We keep receipts and other records for our accounts for seven years, because tax law requires it (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
This website
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. To show and secure the website, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, your type of browser and the page you request. We do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare keeps this data only briefly.
We do not set cookies or use any analytics or advertising tools. If we start doing so, we will ask for your consent first and update this statement and our cookie policy.
Who we share your data with
We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us run the restaurant and the website, and who may only use your data on our instructions. We have made agreements with them to protect your data.
- Tebi BV (Amsterdam), for reservations and our till system. See also Tebi's privacy policy (opens in a new window).
- Cloudflare, for hosting and securing the website.
- Our email and IT suppliers, and our accountant.
Sometimes we are required by law to share data, for example with the Dutch Tax Administration.
Data outside the European Union
Cloudflare may also process data in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which means that according to the European Commission your data is adequately protected there.
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised use. The website only works over a secure connection (https), and only staff who need your data for their work can access it.
No automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you that are taken by a computer alone, and we do not build profiles of you.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data erased, unless we are required by law to keep it;
- have the processing restricted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a common file format (portability);
- withdraw your consent, where we process your data on the basis of consent.
Send your request to info@restaurantwiechmann.nl. We will reply within one month. To make sure the request comes from you, we may ask you to confirm who you are; we will not ask for a copy of your ID.
Making a complaint
Not happy with how we handle your data? Please let us know first, so we can look for a solution together. You also always have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (opens in a new window).
Links to other websites
Our website links to Tebi, Instagram, Google Maps and the Wiechmann Hotel, among others. Those websites have their own privacy and cookie policies; we are not responsible for them.

We may update this privacy statement, for example when we start using new services. The latest version is always on this page.
